Conformity Assessment Bodies (CAB) wishing to join the COLBS certification program may request approval through formal communication, following the guidance and requirements set out in Section 9 of the Protocol for Demonstration and Certification of Net Biodiversity Gain. The submitted documentation will enable a detailed assessment of the CAB’s technical capacity and competence to ensure compliance with the quality and rigor standards required for the validation and verification of biodiversity initiatives within the program.

We review the application and the documents to confirm that they comply with the requirements established in the COLBS Protocol.
Based on the review of the application, the COLBS program may request additional documents to complete the approval process.
• Once all documents have been received, we will confirm the approval of the CAB in the COLBS program by email.
• The approved CAB must sign the COLBS Program Validation and Verification Agreement, a necessary condition to be enabled as an evaluator. Download here.
• If the CAB is not approved, we will communicate the decision indicating the reason that led to it.
We will publish the approved CAB on the program’s website, specifying its scope and the body’s compliance with the COLBS Protocol.
